Heirs of the Blade (Shadows of the Apt, #7)

Heirs of the Blade (Shadows of the Apt, #7) - Adrian Tchaikovsky Yay! Awesome ending. Can't wait for the next one. Its a fairly dark, slow book, and it dragged a bit in the middle, and some aspects of the ending were a bit too neat for my taste, but I still think it takes the series a sort of cumulatively considerably forward. Its not in the slightest what I would have expected from this story and these characters seven books ago, certainly/

Tisamons tragic but thoroughly consistent descent into full blown villain I particularly enjoyed, as Tchaikovsky eviscerates the violent 'warrior ethos' prevalent in a lot of fantasy and strips it bare for the semi-fascist sensibility it is.

Also, Achaeos has no ghost...because he's still alive! Right? Right?
