Ready Player One - Ernest Cline Sweet but still somehow...gently alienating. Only so far you can go on nostalgia you don't share. Theres a recursive kind of mirroring between the different parts of the story - the remembered 80's, the world of the OASIS cyberspace and the post apocalyptic reality: they all have a similarly disassociated, unreal and rather depressing feel to me. The past is programmed into the game and the present functions like a game - items are acquired, puzzles are solved, mazes are traversed. It added up to a strangely melancholy read.
